History

The Cornwood Agricultural and Horticultural Society has been in existence for more than 100 years, its main object the advancement of agriculture and horticulture for the benefit of the inhabitants of Cornwood and neighbourhood.

Our summer show is held at Cadleigh Farm, Lee Mill near Ivybridge by kind permission of Mr & Mrs John Cane, on the third Saturday in August, and is very easily accessed from the A38.

We hold a very friendly traditional country day out with plenty of attractions for all the family and ample free parking. As well as major shows for horse competitors and dog exhibitors there is the addition of Lurcher, Terrier and family dog racing, speed jumping and hurdles for the Dog competitors.

The Horticultural Show has classes for a wide variety of exhibitors of all ages and abilities, with local and open classes. Further to this we hold a Pet & Poultry Show, Sheep Show, side shows, trade stands, bouncy castle, face painting and races for the children and demonstrations and displays with a country theme throughout the day as well as a choice of refreshment stands and a beer tent.
